Serax is a platform for well-known Belgian and international designers such as Pascale Naessens, Sergio Herman, Anita Le Grelle and Paola Navone.
Its product offering includes tableware and interior design products.
The company concentrates on sourcing designers and on the sales and marketing side of the story to both retail and hospitality B2B customers.
Serax is a highly profitable and fast-growing business with approximately €30m in revenues in 2017 (with an EBITDA margin of 20%).
Shares were originally owned by founders Axel Van Den Bossche and Frank Lambert, and by 3D Participaties (since 2011).
Being a very attractive target, there was a five-month competitive auction process that focused on financial investors, in which Belgian private equity fund Buysse & Partners ultimately closed the deal.
