Peter D'hondt

Peter started his career in 1993 at Coopers & Lybrand. From 1993 until 2000, he was involved in auditing large and medium-sized companies in various industries (pharma, retail & distribution, software & internet). From summer 2000 until summer 2002, Peter worked for PwC in San Jose, California, where, as a manager, he was responsible for auditing large and medium-sized companies and was also involved in IPOs on NASDAQ. Upon his return to Belgium, Peter joined the firm’s Global Capital Markets Group (“GCMG”).

As a Director within the GCMG, he acquired key experience in IFRS and US GAAP. Peter was also involved in various capital market transactions, both in Belgium and cross-border.

As an Assurance Partner, Peter is mainly serving clients reporting under IFRS or US GAAP, with European headquarters in Belgium. Peter also served for a number of years as the Assurance Chief Quality Officer, and later on as firmwide Human Capital Leader. More recently, from March 1, 2020 to June 30, 2024, Peter was the Managing Partner of our Assurance Practice in Belgium.

Education

• Master degree in Applied Economics – Antwerp University (UFSIA, 1992)

• MA Applied Economics  - Antwerp University (UFSIA, 1998)

• Registered Auditor and a member of the Belgian institute of company auditors (IBR/IRE, since 1997)

Other professional activities

• Invited Lecturer at Antwerp University (UA), Antwerp Management School (AMS) and Leuven University (KU Leuven) at seminars on IFRS and deontology of the auditor;

• Co-author of publications as a member of the prospectus commission of the Belgian institute of company auditors (IBR/IRE) – “Guidelines to the auditor in prospectus and other related engagements” – ICCI, 2009;

• Co-author of book “Openbare aanbiedingen en prospectus – de wet van 16 juni 2006” – Vanden Broele, 2007
