As a Tax Director in PwC’s Tax Compliance department and having been a registered tax consultant for about 15 years, Lieven has acquired very broad experience in coordinating all tax compliance work within the Belgian Tax practice of PwC, covering not only tax returns but also withholding tax and fee form related formalities etc. in order to ensure entire compliance based on a best practice model. Lieven has also coordinated various tax audits of PwC clients.
Before joining the Tax department of PwC Belgium in 1997, Lieven worked in PwC’s Audit (Assurance) department for 10 years, after which he earned the title of Registered Auditor.
This broad scope of work performed in an international environment enables Lieven to act as a broad business advisor for clients.
Lieven has a degree in Applied Economics (State University Ghent-June 1986), with a special degree in Accountancy and Taxes (State UniversityGhent - June 1987). He is a certified Tax Consultant (Institute for Accountants and Tax Consultants in Belgium).
His experience with Belgian and cross-border audits and Belgian GAAP, US GAAP and IFRS accounting and taxation made him an expert in FAS #109 and IAS #12, and resulted in his involvement in various tax accounting related projects for international clients (reporting under US GAAP or IFRS).
