Damien has a master degree in Applied Economics – major in Banking and Finance, followed by an additional master in Accountancy and Auditing.
He is a registered statutory auditor (Réviseur d’Entreprises – Bedrijfsrevisor) by the IRE/IBR.
Furthermore, he is Registered Auditor by the National Bank of Belgium for the audits of financial institutions and of insurance companies.
And finally, he is Registered Auditor by the Financial Services and Markets Authority in Belgium.
Damien is the vice-chair of the Board of the Institute of auditors accredited for financial institutions and a member of the working group in charge of improving the audit methodology and the cooperation between the supervisory bodies and these accredited auditors.
Damien has, from the start of his career with PwC, been involved in the audits of Banks, investment funds, REITs (“GVV/SIR”) and quoted companies. He has grown from executing to coordinating and leading audits of regulated companies. As an accredited auditor by the Belgian regulators, he has developed a strong knowledge of IFRS, Basel, Corporate Governance, UCITS, MiFID compliance, buyer/vendor due diligence, ISAE 3402 assignments and internal audit.
