PRINCE2® Practitioner Training

The PRINCE2® Practitioner Training is aimed at experienced project managers who need a good understanding of the PRINCE2® methodology.

To whom the training is addressed?

The PRINCE2® Practitioner course is aimed at experienced project managers who need a good understanding of the PRINCE2® methodology. 

It is also relevant to other key staff involved in the design, development and delivery of projects, including project board members, team managers and project assurance, project support and operational line managers/staff.

This three-day PRINCE2® Practitioner course includes:

  • a practical and hands-on three-day training session, full of relevant real life examples, by one of the APMG certified PwC PRINCE2® instructors
  • preparation for the PRINCE2® Practitioner exam
  • the PRINCE2® Practitioner exam
  • the PRINCE2® Practitioner certificate (for those who pass the exam)
  • course materials (the official ‘Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2®’ book and supporting syllabus sample exams and glossary)

Prerequisites

Participants must have passed the PRINCE2® Foundation exam.

Some pre-course work might be required to refresh the knowledge of the PRINCE2® Foundation level content.

Course objectives

During this three-day class room training, you will learn to:

  • understand the philosophy of the PRINCE2® method and the relationships between PRINCE2® roles, management products, principles, themes, techniques and processes to allow you to manage your project successfully in a logical and organised way;
  • apply and tailor the PRINCE2® principles, themes and processes to different kinds of projects and project environments, allowing you to reduce time from administration and focus on what really matters;
  • create and assess PRINCE2® management products to ensure optimal communication and responsibility setting throughout the project team.

At the end of the three-day course, you will have the opportunity to obtain your PRINCE2® Practitioner certificate. View the agenda of this course.

About the exam

The Practitioner exam:

  • consists of 68 questions;
  • requires a participant to obtain 38 marks to pass (55%);
  • has to be completed in 150 minutes (+ 15 minutes for non-native English speakers) ;
  • is an open book exam ( official PRINCE2 manual only );
  • takes place around two weeks after the exam, so the participants can get acquainted with the PRINCE2® method (given the rich content of this course, participants are recommended to plan at least 15 hours of self-study before taking the exam);

About our trainer

Olivier Jacqmotte

Olivier is a Senior Manager in PwC's Technology Consulting team in Belgium and has more than 15 years of experience. He started his career with process audits and gradually focused more and more on the project management aspects of large-scale transformation and improvement programmes.

His main types of projects are project reviews, quality assurance assignments and the implementation of management offices and project management methodologies, mainly in the payments and public sectors. Olivier has also delivered project management training sessions for many of PwC's clients. The combination of his project and programme experience in his field, and his knowledge of the PRINCE2® method makes him an excellent trainer for the Foundation and Practitioner courses.
