Corporate venturing can exist in many forms. It allows companies to seek a way to collaborate with startups that fit their strategy and vision for the company. While corporate venturing activities mature over time and increase in their presence (+20%), this barometer also shows a big gap between the willingness to start with corporate venturing (90%) and actively running a corporate venturing activity (47%).
This 4th edition of the Antwerp Management School and PwC’s Corporate Venturing Barometer aims to provide a view on corporate venturing practices in Belgium. The barometer reveals both challenges and opportunities and will enable discussions between all stakeholders. Whether you are an innovation leader, corporate decision-maker, investor, entrepreneur or policymaker, a better understanding of the corporate venturing challenges is essential to navigate and leverage its potential effectively.
“The closer the horizon, the easier it is to track the innovation progress. The more distant the horizon, the more difficult the tracking and the more important the alignment with the strategy will be. Long-term innovation depends more on trust and maybe the past performance of the innovation team.”
