This privacy notice contains important information about what personal data we collect, what we do with it, who we may share it with and your choices and rights.

Your personal data – what is it?

‘Personal data’ is any information about a living individual which allows them to be identified from that data (for example, name, photographs, videos and email address). The processing of personal data is governed by legislation like the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other legislation relating to privacy, data protection and rights.

Data we may collect 

The personal data we collect as part of our PwC M&A Survey is:

  • Contact details (name, business email, company name, function in your company, country)

  • Your consent to receive the PwC M&A Survey

  • If applicable, your participation in the PwC M&A Survey

By participating in this survey you agree that we process your data for the following purposes:

  • We will process the business data and personal data (together “Data”) you provided as part of this survey for the purpose of PwC’s M&A survey
  • To be combined with others at the aggregate, industry and regional/country level to get a consensus of opinion on these issues. 

  • To be combined with data from other surveys conducted by PwC in order to obtain further insight. 

* All responses will be kept completely confidential and individual responses are never attributed without your prior consent.

We retain personal data processed in connection with the PwC CFO survey as follows:

  • Your Personal information will be retained for our PwC M&A Survey for as long as necessary, but for no longer than 2 years after the collection of your survey data.

  • Your consent to receive the PwC M&A Survey, for as long as we have the need to keep a record  for GDPR accountability reasons or/and until you revoke your consent to receive a survey, which can be easily requested at be.privacy@pwc.com

  • Personal information may be held for longer periods where extended retention periods are required by law, regulation, or professional standards and to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights.

How will we process your data?

  • We will analyse and review your input in order to create insights and understand the challenges you and your business face
  • We’ll process the information and create a report with findings about the strategic priorities of other Belgian financial buyers and sellers. This report won’t contain information that can be used to identify individuals who participated in our M&A  survey.

What’s the legal basis for processing your personal data?

PwC processes your data based on informed consent. By completing the survey you agree that we, PwC, process your personal data for the purposes stated in this privacy notice. We will not use your Data other than in connection with the Purpose and as permitted by law, regulation or the requirements of a professional body of which we are a member.

You will be given the option to unsubscribe from any communications you do not wish to  receive. You may also wish to read our general online Privacy Statement that provides further information about how we use personal information.

Who’s responsible for processing your data?

Your rights and your personal data

You have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

  • Right to be informed, hence this privacy notice

  • Right to Access

  • Right to Request Rectification

  • Right to Erasure (right to be forgotten)

  • Right to Restrict Processing

  • Right to Data Portability

  • Right to Object

  • Right to Withdraw your consent at any time. The lawfulness of the consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

Complaints

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority.

Transfer of your data

We will only share the fact that you have participated in the survey within the Global PwC CRM system. PwC Member Firms don’t sell or otherwise disclose your personal data to third parties for the purpose of allowing them to market their products and services to you. 

We use third parties to support us in providing our services and to help provide, run and manage our internal IT systems. Third parties include providers of information technology, cloud-based software as a service, identity management, website hosting and management, data analysis, data backup, security and storage services. The servers powering and facilitating the cloud infrastructure are located in secure data centres around the world and personal data may be stored on any one of them.
