Planning the year end 2026

Webinar event

We're pleased to announce that in December, we’ll be hosting our annual ‘planning the year end’ virtual event. We will hold three online sessions: one in Dutch on 15 December, one in French on 16 December, and one in English on 17 December.

Already more than 25 years, PwC is organising the 'planning the year end' seminar. We will be exploring the evolutions in the Belgian tax and legal environment of the past year. During 2026, we have seen the entry into force of the 2025 reforms and in the coming weeks, we are expected to have further details on the federal budget in search of some €10 billion.

Beyond budgetary measures, 2026 was also the year in which the first compliance deadlines for Pillar Two happened. Interesting lessons have been learned. Pillar Two remains high on the agenda, with compliance priorities shaped by experiences with the first filing requirement in 2026 as preparations for 2027 get underway. VAT developments continue apace, with e-invoicing and the modernised VAT chain now in place and e-reporting on the horizon. Customs is equally in motion, with the Union Customs Code reform, CBAM's first full year under the definitive regime in 2027, the EU's new permanent steel regime, and significant new trade agreements all requiring close attention in the coming months. On the personal tax side, the new capital gains tax on financial assets is now a reality, and the broader personal income tax reform is reshaping obligations for employers and directors alike – with the withholding tax exemptions for shift/teamwork and R&D also set to evolve.

Against this challenging backdrop, this seminar will equip businesses, employers, and investors with the insights needed to navigate both confirmed measures and those still under discussion – and to anticipate what matters most for year-end planning and tax strategy.

Corporate income tax

As the year draws to a close, corporate taxation remains in full motion. The government's budget exercise is still underway and expected to crystallise in the coming weeks, with potentially significant implications for corporations. At the same time, key legislative initiatives – including the investment climate law and a new anti-fraud law – remain under discussion, while a new Pillar Two filing deadline is already around the corner.

In this session, we will guide you through these developments – confirmed or still emerging – to help you anticipate their impact and refine your tax strategy for the year ahead.

VAT and customs

Join us to explore the latest developments shaping the VAT and customs landscape. We’ll cover the continued rollout of e-invoicing, the modernised VAT chain now in place, and the next steps towards e-reporting. On the customs side, we’ll examine the Union Customs Code reform, CBAM’s first full year under the definitive regime in 2027, the EU’s new permanent steel regime, and the impact of significant new trade agreements. With change accelerating across both VAT and customs, the coming months will require close attention and careful preparation.

Case law and rulings

As we do every year, we'll present a selection of recent landmark court decisions and interesting rulings on corporate income tax and withholding tax topics, such as the general anti-abuse rules, the beneficial ownership concept, the group contribution regime, and the interest deduction under the EBITDA rule, among others. We'll focus on the practical impact of these decisions; both opportunities and points of attention will be addressed.

Personal income tax

At PwC, we’ll guide you through the recent changes in HR tax and reward, including the taxation of capital gains and its latest clarifications, the reintroduction of the copyright regime for IT functions, and the update to the mobility budget. We’ll also look at the expected changes for 2027 and cover topics such as pension improvement. We’ll share insights on what these developments mean for both your organisation and your workforce, so you’re fully prepared for 2027.
