People integration after a transaction – a practical example
Peter De Bley & Wim De Wit (HR Director, retail & private banking Belgium, BNP Paribas Fortis)
Turbulent economic times are making many organisations undertake a transaction, whether a merger, an acquisition, a divestiture, a carve-out or a spin-off. Every transaction creates turmoil, uncertainty and opportunities for people. Some of the typical people concerns we recognise as part of a post-transaction effort are:
- How to retain high performers and/or critical people?
- How to get your people at the right place, at the right time and with the right skills?
- What kind of turbulence can be expected and how will you be able to manage this?
- How do you control communication (the right information at the right time) towards our people?
- How do you keep people motivated?
In this session we will highlight some key lessons learnt on how to deal with the people integration concerns after a transaction, using a practical example.
